Why We Made it?
Originally conceived as a custom project, the Oyster Wellness Seat was born from a simple realization: there was no chair that allowed people of all ages, sizes, and flexibility levels to sit comfortably in a traditional meditation posture.

Expert Collaboration
Developed with exercise physiologist Jesse Schwartzman, the Oyster Wellness Seat is grounded in science—designed to support posture, reduce strain, and enhance comfort. Insights from Zen teacher and advisor Peter Corbett helped ensure the experience supports stillness and presence as much as physical well-being.

Designed for Well-being
Traditional seating often locks the body into passive, rigid positions—especially in the spaces where we’re meant to unwind. Over time, this adds strain to the spine, hips, and knees—and disconnects us from the present moment.
The Oyster Wellness Seat was designed to do the opposite. It supports active sitting, inviting gentle movement and helping align the body naturally. Whether you’re meditating, reading, stretching, or just being, it encourages a more mindful relationship to rest.

Innovation Meets Intent
The Oyster Wellness Seat encourages active sitting by engaging the core while maintaining comfort. Its shape allows for natural hip rotation, helping the spine maintain its optimal curve.
A subtle gap beneath the thighs creates space for movement and airflow, preventing that cramped, compressed sensation common in traditional seating. With the knees resting below the hips, the pelvis can open and rotate externally—supporting healthy alignment of the lumbar spine.
The gently contoured base supports the SITS bones with a soft but stable foundation, preventing sagging and promoting upright, grounded posture.
Over 7,000 hours of testing, iteration, and refinement went into this design—resulting in a seat that feels simple, but performs with purpose.

Customizable Comfort
Every body is different, so we built the seat to adapt:
- Optional height-boosting cushions for taller & shorter users
- Bolsters for knees or additional softness
- Adjustable foot cushion to ease ankle and hip tension
Choose from a range of premium upholstery options to complement your space and tactile preferences.

Lasting Support
Unlike most floor seats or kneeling chairs, the Oyster Wellness Seat is designed for sustained comfort.
Its ergonomic form keeps your spine supported and joints open, making it easier to stay present without fidgeting or fatigue.
Use it daily—for 5 minutes or an hour—and you’ll begin to feel the difference in your posture, your presence, and your peace of mind.

Wellness at Home
The Oyster Wellness Seat was created to bring calm, comfort, and clarity into everyday spaces. Whether you keep it in a reading nook, meditation corner, bedroom, living room, or home office, it elevates daily rituals—without asking you to “make time” for wellness.
Unlike traditional chairs, it doesn’t fight your body’s natural shape. Instead, it invites stillness, supports healthy posture, and looks beautiful doing it.
Its sculptural form and compact footprint make it easy to move, easy to live with, and hard to live without.
(And yes, it can even replace your desk chair.)

Built for Better Habits
Wellness doesn't happen all at once. It’s built through small, consistent choices.
The Oyster Wellness Seat makes it easier to return to your breath, your book, or your body—whether for five minutes or fifty.
When something feels good to use, you’re more likely to use it. That’s the difference between good intentions and lasting routines.
