About Us

In a world where stress is rising and daily life moves at an increasingly rapid pace, the need for tools that support personal wellbeing has never been greater. Too often, the furniture and environments we use every day are overlooked — leaving people with discomfort, distraction, or disengagement right when they are trying to prioritize themselves.

At Oyster Wellness, we design furniture with purpose: pieces built around meditation, listening, recovery, and mindfulness. Our process is problem-led and expert-driven — we identify what keeps people from fully engaging in a practice, then collaborate with specialists in physiology, acoustics, and wellness to create solutions that truly serve the body and mind.

Our mission is to make wellbeing accessible to as many people as possible — beginners and seasoned practitioners alike, across age, flexibility, and size. More than just beautiful objects, our pieces are tools for clarity, rest, and connection. Furniture that doesn’t just look good, but helps people live better. And of course, it looks good too.

Alex Muradian

Founder and Lead Designer

Alex discovered his passion for woodworking and furniture while captaining the croquet team at St. John’s College in Annapolis, Maryland. The team’s tradition of using beautiful, handcrafted, wooden mallets sparked his desire to create his own. This enthusiasm eventually led him to attend the renowned Williams & Cleal furniture school in England, where he honed his skills and developed his unique design aesthetic.

On returning to America, he established his own studio in Westhampton Beach, New York, specializing in custom-designed furniture and products. Alex’s designs are inspired by the natural beauty of his surroundings — from the picturesque landscapes of England’s West Country to the Hamptons’ dunes to the jungles of Costa Rica to the cityscapes of New York, London, and Paris.
