From brief to finished piece.
Traditional furniture making and advanced fabrication, brought together through a close conversation with each client. Our Westhampton Beach studio follows the details from the first brief through delivery.

Begin with the brief.
Tell us about the space, how the piece will be used, and the ideas that draw you to it. Dimensions, references, budget and timing help shape a clear starting point.
Develop the idea.
We explore the design through sketches, drawings and material samples, refining proportions, surfaces and details with you.
Resolve the details.
Materials and construction are considered together. Timber, veneer, metal, glass and upholstery each bring different possibilities to a piece.
Plan the making.
The agreed design guides fabrication. We consider construction, finishes, access and delivery as part of the project, with scope and timing confirmed before making begins.
Make with care.
Traditional craft sits alongside digital fabrication in our practice. The methods follow the design, from shaping and joinery to the final surface.
Bring it into the space.
Delivery and any installation requirements are discussed for the individual commission, together with care guidance for the finished piece.

Planning a commission.
What can I commission?
Our portfolio includes seating, tables, cabinets, shelving and smaller objects. We work with private clients, interior designers and architects. Share your brief so we can discuss the right scope for your project.
How does the process work, and how long does it take?
We begin with a conversation, develop the design through drawings and material samples, then plan fabrication and delivery. Timelines vary with the design, materials, complexity and workshop schedule. We confirm the current project timeline in the proposal.
Can a piece work with my existing interior?
Yes. Photographs, room drawings, finish samples and fabric swatches help us consider scale, materials and color in context. We can work with your designer or architect to develop the piece alongside the wider interior.
Who designs and makes the furniture?
Oyster Studio Furniture is led by principal Alex Muradian, working with designer Ronan Morrison and the studio team in Westhampton Beach. Design and making are considered together throughout the commission.
Which materials do you work with?
Our practice includes hardwoods and veneers, upholstery, metals and glass, combining traditional furniture making with advanced fabrication. The material and finish choices are developed for each design and confirmed as part of the project.
How is a commission priced?
Price reflects the design work, materials, scale, construction, finishes and delivery or installation scope. We discuss the budget at the outset and provide a proposal outlining the agreed work, cost and timing before proceeding.
