You can sit a number of ways. The ways that are most common and "built in" are sitting with your legs crossed and knees braced on the sloped part, sitting with your legs crossed and unbraced by sitting slightly back on the seat, by sitting with you feet firmly on the foot rest where your ankles would typically rest, or sitting off the back with your feet on the floor. Of course, given the size of the seat, there are many other ways you can explore sitting on it. Using our accessory pillows allows for positions approaching a lotus to be achieved. Alternatively, you can use towels and your own pillows to adjust certain elements to make the seat truly work for you.
For custom fabric requests, please contact us. We can accomodate most requests, we just need a sample of the fabric to confirm it will work with our complex shape.
Everything is made in the USA. More specifically, in our workshop and studio in Westhampton Beach, New York.
At this time, we are unable to accept returns as everything is made to order.
Each fabric has specific care instructions. Please see our resources page to find the specific fabric and how best to care for it. Always air on the side of caution to avoid staining your fabric!
The foam that makes up the seat should last for 15 years or more. Depending on the care of the fabric you should be able to see extended life. We do offer a reupholstery service when you think your seat needs a refresh which is around 30% less than buying a new seat.
Upon request, we can upholster the seats in a marine grade fabric which is suitable for exterior use. Regardless, we do not recommend leaving your seats uncovered year-round outside as they will wear much faster. We are working on a variant which would be able to be left outside completely.
